“A” Team
Academic awards are issued to students who earn “A’s” in all classes for their semester grades. The first semester that a student receives straight “A’s”, and is then known as a member of the “A Team”, he or she will receive an Academic Achievement Certificate. Each semester the student receives straight “A’s” he/she will receive a certificate.
After being a member of the “A Team” for three semesters, a student is awarded an “A Team” letter. This is a white “N” exactly like those awarded in the athletic area, with the “A Team” recognition printed on it. Membership in this select group can only be attained through high achievement in the academic area. It cannot be given to anyone; it has to be earned.

Math League
Central Wisconsin Mathematics League gives all students a chance to compete against students throughout Central Wisconsin. Some of the best students and schools in the state participate in this league, and Nekoosa is proud to be a member. Competition is held at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point at three meets each school year. Twelve students from each school participate in groups of four in three categories. The categories are Geometry, Algebra, and Advanced Math. The students take approximately an hour-long test covering almost everything in their category. The students and the school are then scored and are compared to others in and out of their respective school divisions.
Awards and prizes, of which Nekoosa has its share, are rewarded to outstanding members of the League. Sentry Insurance of Stevens Point and Employer’s Insurance of Wausau provide financial support for CWML.
This website is dedicated to South Central Conference All-Conference Writers and Artists. Each year submissions for art, poetry, and short stories are submitted for entry into the literary magazine. Chosen pieces from each of the participating schools (Adams-Friendship, Mauston, Nekoosa, Westfield, Wisconsin Dells) are then published in the literary magazine.
