Enroll in WISE Academy

If you're interested in learning more about WISE Academy, please complete the Virtual Interest Survey, and we’ll help determine if our academy is the right fit for your family.

Enrollment Process:

• For families living within the Nekoosa School District: Complete the WISE Academy New Student Application to enroll.
• For families living outside the Nekoosa School District: Submit the Open Enrollment Application (available from the Department of Public Instruction starting the first Monday in February, with a deadline on the last Friday in April). After completing this application, you must also submit our New Student Application by May 1st.

Enrollment Selection:

• In May, we review Open Enrollment applications and combine them with applications from district families to determine potential enrollments.
• If applications exceed available spots, a random lottery is conducted to fill openings, with a list created for remaining students.
• Families will be notified in May or early June about their enrollment status and can choose to accept or decline the offer. 
• Final enrollment may be contingent on Open Enrollment approval and/or completed paperwork.

Important Note:

Under current Open Enrollment law, applying for Open Enrollment refers to the district, not a specific school. This means:

• If WISE Academy reaches capacity, students may be approved for enrollment into the district but placed into a different school.
• If this happens, families will receive a letter with placement details and instructions on confirming or declining enrollment.
