2026 Referendum Overview
On April 7, 2026, the taxpayers will be asked to approve an operating referendum to exceed the revenue caps by $2 million each year for the next five years to maintain and continue the efforts from the last referendum. Specifically, to retain our experienced staff, restore student supports, preserve academic programs, and expand career pathways.

Official Ballot Language
“Shall the School district of Nekoosa, located in Wood County, Adams County, and Juneau County, Wisconsin, be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $2,000,000 per year for five years, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year and ending with the 2030-2031 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operational expenses, including but not limited to improving and maintaining District programs?”
A “yes” vote authorizes the District to exceed the state revenue limit for these purposes. A “no” vote does not.

The estimated cost to the taxpayer would be approximately $2 per year for each $100,000 of property value. For example, if your property’s value is $500,000, the referendum would cost you an additional $10 per year for the next five years.
