The Nekoosa School District Administration supports and values the Nekoosa Athletic Program, which encourages individuals to become more productive members of the community.
Nekoosa Athletics unify those who take part on teams, as well as the entire student body and community. The central goal of our athletic program is to foster characteristics and qualities such as sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, reliability, perseverance, and resilience. By taking part in athletic programs, students are given the opportunity to improve their skills, to compete physically, to build relationships, and to have fun in a safe environment.
Nekoosa High School offers a variety of extra-curricular activities that allow for student participation beyond the normal school day. These activities allow students additional opportunities to develop their talents beyond the classroom. We compete in the South Central Conference with with Adams-Friendship, Mauston, Wautoma, Westfield and Wisconsin Dells school districts.
We encourage all of our students to become involved in the wide range of activities that Nekoosa has to offer. Studies have indicated that students involved in extra-curricular activities tend to have higher grades, better attendance rates, and higher self-esteem than students who do not participate in extracurricular activities. The choice is clearly up to you! Become involved and your high school experiences will be even more exciting, worthwhile and positive.
