Alexander Middle School Good News Calls
Good News Calls
When we "catch a student doing the right thing" at AMS, we make a call home to share the good news with their family. Our students are something to celebrate!
5th Grade Good News Calls
Yesterday, Feb. 16th, was our first day back after Monday's snow day and the GaGa ball pit out at recess was too full of snow to play in. The problem was that the fifth graders and fourth graders really love to play GaGa ball, so fifth graders Rachael Allison, John Michael O'Keefe and Jaylah Murray decided to spend their entire recess time clearing out the GaGa ball pit so other people could use it. We so appreciate their work to make AMS a better place. Way to go!
Good News Call - John Yellow Feather Climer
2/1/2021 Good News Call is in behalf of John Yellow Feather Climer, an 8th Grader. Mrs. Russell (who teaches in the WISE Academy for online learners) writes:
I was coming in at 8:00 this morning and John was arriving at school at the same time. He was clearly running late and was waiting at the door to enter. I was only about halfway down the walkway when he was buzzed in, but he waited for me to get there and held the door for me. We exchanged good mornings, and his politeness and cheerful greeting have stayed with me! It was a great way to start a Monday when I admittedly was feeling a bit sluggish! He could have rushed through the door or not said a word, but he chose to perform this act of kindness! That seemingly small thing was huge for me this morning! I want him to know how much it was appreciated!
Even though it was a small act, it was very much appreciated. Way to go John!
